About Me

My photo
Mesa, Arizona, United States
Hi: It's Merniebug here. Well actually it's Melanie but I answer to a variety of sobriquets. My mother had been reading Gone With The Wind at the time of my birth, thus, I was named Melanie. My friends call me Mel, It was my sister who coined the moniker Mernie when she was too young to pronounce Melanie correctly. It was eventually shortened to Mern. And then later when my nephew came along he called me Melwee because he couldn't pronounce Melanie either. Now my husband of thirty-four years is so confused he just calls me whatever comes to mind first. Actually I was Sweetheart until the day he realized the honeymoon was over. It was my cousin who added the bug to Mernie which is who I've always been to him and who I am on Splitcoast Stampers. So now that we've gotten past the odd name business, who else am I? I'm a child of the King, a wife and a mother to one grown son and five tailwaggin' fur babies. I am a retired interior designer, a rubber stamper, and a wanna be author who is just completing a first novel. I got into scrapping and rubber stamping to fill a creative void after retiring--it's less expensive than redecorating the house every year. LOL

MELJEN'S DESIGN'S LAUNCH HOP

Welcome.  Come on in and lets get hoppin’.

1.  For my first card today (above) I used the new image, 'Sparrow Fairy'
I sized my image toward the smaller side so I could incorporate the frame. The flowers were all hand made.
What I used on my Sparrow Fairy#1 Frame card:
Image: Meljen’s Designs: Sparrow Fairy

Ink: Marvy Matchables
Color: Copic Markers
Designer Paper: Imaginisce
Spellbinders Frame Die
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Dew Drops
Foliage and Flower Punches
Glitter: Art Institute Glitter
Flower Soft
Glimmer Mist Gold
CHALLENGES:
Sparrow Fairy#1  is also for alota32 challenge to use one of something, two of something, and three of something.  This card has 1 bird, 2 pairs of wings, 3 flowers.
PIXIE DUST STUDIO:  THINGS WITH WINGS
2.  "Sparrow Fairy #2  I used the same image but scaled it much larger.  I had a sentiment to include but couldn't make it fit so it was included inside the card.  It reads:  'I Will Paint Peace On Your Wings And You Will Fly Over The World.'
Sparrow Fairy #2 is also for alota#32, to incorporate 1 of something, 2 of something, and three of something.  I used 1 bow, 2pairs of wings, 3 kinds of embellies:  buttons, ribbons, flowers.
What I used on Sparrow Fairy #2:

*Remember if you get lost just refer to the list above.

PS.  Please forgive me, I'm having fits with the fonts and spacing on this post.  Fonts are bouncing from one size to another and from one font to another.  I noticed a whole section of text is underlined too.  I didn't do that.  I don't seem to have any control over anything here today at all.  But at least my links are working.  That's an improvment from last night when I was checking it out.
