About Me

My photo
Mesa, Arizona, United States
Hi: It's Merniebug here. Well actually it's Melanie but I answer to a variety of sobriquets. My mother had been reading Gone With The Wind at the time of my birth, thus, I was named Melanie. My friends call me Mel, It was my sister who coined the moniker Mernie when she was too young to pronounce Melanie correctly. It was eventually shortened to Mern. And then later when my nephew came along he called me Melwee because he couldn't pronounce Melanie either. Now my husband of thirty-four years is so confused he just calls me whatever comes to mind first. Actually I was Sweetheart until the day he realized the honeymoon was over. It was my cousin who added the bug to Mernie which is who I've always been to him and who I am on Splitcoast Stampers. So now that we've gotten past the odd name business, who else am I? I'm a child of the King, a wife and a mother to one grown son and five tailwaggin' fur babies. I am a retired interior designer, a rubber stamper, and a wanna be author who is just completing a first novel. I got into scrapping and rubber stamping to fill a creative void after retiring--it's less expensive than redecorating the house every year. LOL

BEAR HUGS

This is another Meljen's Design digi image.  I had in mind a bit of the Shabby look today, but this image just didn't seen to lend itself to the look so I only got as far as the flower and the ribbon which I shrunk and distorted with my heat gun.  This image is colored with Copics.

WHAT I USED ON MY CARD:
IMAGE: Meljun's Design's Digital Image
PAPER: Bazzill Card Stock, Designer Paper Basic Grey Indian Summer
Spellbinders Dies
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Tiny Bubbles
Dew Drops
Flowers: Prima
Ribbon: Bazzill
COPICS COLORS: E000, 00, 02, E35, 37, 39, R81, 83, 85, 89, Y00, Y11

FOR THE FOLLOWING CHALLENGES:
Chrisma Cardz #17 Girly card with flowers
Cute Card Thursday: Touchy Feely (the feely part is the flower and the Cuttlebugged layer.)
Belli Challenge CBC89: Die Cuts. Find Belli Challenge here: http://www.bellichallenge.blogspot.com/
Craft Your Passion:  Two Color Project:  I chose Mauve and Brown. *Also see card below.  I tried to enter the FOR YOU  teddy bear too but your linky thing wouldn't let me.
Little Red Wagon:  Dry Embossing, done in Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Res-Q Challenge: Pastel Colors-I chose pinks and this sweet Meljen image sure does make me smile.
Crafty Card Makers: Desert Island Challenge:  I would have to have an endless supply of cardstock, and designer paper, adhesive, my Tim Holtz scissors, Cuttlebug machine and embossing folders, and my spellbinders dies.  Then I'd be sure and have ton's of preprinted digital images.  Next I would take clear dew drops and my Copics to color them, reams opf Prima flowers,  and all of my Martha Stewart punches.  Finally I would take my small paper cutter and my Score Pal.  You think this is a lot for a desert island? Well you asked, didn't you?  Finally, I would take a change of underwear,  sun screen, and George Clooney--Gotta take a stamping break sometime!!!

I always love your cards (and they especially look great at 4am!). The Spellbinder pendant set really makes her stand out. I'll have to try that with my flowers!
